Description:
Happy-Snappy Tippy-Tappy Elves is a piece I’ve always wanted to compose. Imagine these cute little elves playfully headed to work at the North Pole. They hop, skip, play and once they enter the workshop, one hears the sound of ratchets, wood sanding, and other unique sounds buzzing around the workshop including col legno (which means to play with the wood of the bow or by tapping a pencil on the strings) in parts of the orchestra. The feeling of cuteness also comes from the pizz. indication (except for a few measures where the violins sustain long notes as the elves enter the workshop). The “Happy Snappy” motif travels from the high, low, and middle voices including a few moments of counterpoint throughout. The optional percussion parts add dazzle and sparkle to the piece. I hope you enjoy performing Happy-Snappy Tippy-Tappy Elves!
