Submit your music
Interested in joining the roster of DogSmile Music composers and arrangers? Please read this page carefully on how you can submit your music.
TIPS FOR A STRONG SUBMISSION
Presentation matters, but content is key. Ensure that your music is engraved well enough to read and properly assess. Always present your music in the best light possible!
Our editor will review many submissions, so make sure you “grab” the editor in the first 10-15 seconds of listening to your mp3 and reviewing your score.
Be creative! Strong themes, interesting harmonies, perhaps some counterpoint, and some creative orchestration will get our editor’s attention right away!
Listen to our catalog and/or other published composers/arrangers and study their pieces. That will give you a better sense of what we are looking for in the DogSmile Music catalog.
If your music gets accepted, be a good collaborator. You will be asked to make changes. Maybe a few, maybe a lot. So prepared to be a good collaborator with our editor.
If your music does not get accepted, don’t fret! Perhaps it was not a good fit for our catalog, or you just need to work on a few more skills before it does accepted, or we are already full for that grade level. Keep studying, keep submitting and, most importantly, keep writing!
