Completed the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis
Friday, August 5th, marked the last day of the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis. I felt incredibly happy to have experienced this workshop and very thankful for all the new friends I've made through the workshop as well.During the month, I had an incredible time learning even more about the film scoring business. We met heads of music, music editors, JoAnn Kane Music Service (the same people who prepare the scores and parts for John Williams, John Powell, and others), we honed our conducting, we wrote a cue for an assigned scene from an A-List film, and finally recorded that music with a 64-piece orchestra at the Newman Scoring Stage at Fox Studios.I'm still reeling from the fact that we were allowed to record with such a large group of musicians all thanks to the ASCAP Foundation, Richard Bellis, Jennifer Harmon, and Michael Todd. Without that core team of people, emerging composers would not have this incredible opportunity at our disposal. So thank you very much!Being a part of this workshop is an experience that we will not forget!Watch the video below to see how the music is recorded live to picture! [retweet][facebook]
