The film is about EK, an African immigrant who befriends and begins working for Enso, a former Japanese General. As EK continues his work, we learn what troubles Enso and how this affects their relationship. The film was directed by the talented Rea Rangaka (who’s also an amazing actor).
The score was composed for shakuhachi flute, piano, African percussion, and strings. I was fortunate to have hired some incredible live players for this score including Chris Bleth on shakuhachi flutes, MB Gordy on percussion, and Jennifer Walton leading the string orchestra.
