The Plural of Blood score recording session, completed!

Yesterday, we recorded my score to The Plural of Blood, dir. by Mary-Lyn Chambers at Riot Drum Studio. The score featured ethereal child solos sung by Dalia, the very daughter of our vocal contractor, Ayana Haviv. Dalia's voice added so much innocence and depth to the score and we were all extremely happy to have Dalia sing on our score.Later that day, we also recorded our quartet: Ayana Haviv, Elyse Willis, Aleta Braxton, and Clydene Jackson. This amazing group of women sang and heightened all emotional components of the score and brought musicality and artistry to it as well. I could not be happier with their performance. We even had some aleatoric bits in the score with Ayana and Clydene belting out some "wails" and they were spot on and powerful. Director Mary-Lyn Chambers, and producers, Roxy Shih and Monica Lawson enjoyed listening to the score come to life at the recording session.A big thank you to Les Brockmann, my engineer/score mixer, for recording our session, my assistant Daniel Teodoro, and Mb Gordy! Now we move on to mixing. We're hoping for a premiere next month at the SoHo House in Hollywood. Stay tuned for more details. In the meantime, enjoy some pictures from the recording session (courtesy of Mary-Lyn Chambers):Les, Nick, and Mary-Lyn at The Plural of Blood recording session.
