Description:
Aires Antiguos translates to Ancient Airs. It is composed in the style of the Spanish Baroque period. A violin solo starts off the theme while the rest of the string section interjects with a theme restatement playing jauntily in a lilting style. A solo cello part enters a bit later with slight variation of the theme. The slow section in the middle showcases some emotional playing for violin solo and solo cello. An optional tambourine part and Tenor Drum or Low Drum part adds to the excitement.
