Youth Excellence on Stage (YES) performs Nicolas' La Cumparsita string quartet arrangement

The Youth Excellence on Stage Academy had a concert this past week and one of their selections G.M Rodriguez's La Cumparsita.  The arrangement dives deep into the tango genre by using "chicharras" (a cricket-like sound played by bowing behind the bridge) and the use of "latigos" (quick slides from high to low notes).Thanks to American Voices coordinator, Marc Thayer, students are being exposed to various types of music and the organization is bringing music to all parts of the world.For more information on YES and American Voices, please visit:  www.americanvoices.org/yes-academy[facebook][retweet]
